Cartography

This week we did a project for cartography by each of us making a map, either real or made up. Joey made a map of "Candylaria", Wilson did one of Durotar, a World of Warcraft map, and I did a map of Terrokar Forest, another, more complicated Wacraft map.

I got a picture off of the internet of Terrokar Forest, and then drew a rough draft of it. I made some changes so that I was not completely copying it. Then I got a big piece of watercolor paper and drew it all in with pencil.
After the pencil, I got a pen and traced everything. Then I dipped it in coffee to stain it and make it seem old, and then I painted parts of it with watercolors.
I burned the edges to make it seem even older.

Easter!

As most people will know, last Sunday was Easter! My family and I went to my uncle's neighbor's house in Jackson for a HUGE Easter egg hunt. We found tons of eggs and all of them has candy inside! After the Easter egg hunt, we went to my uncle's house to have lunch.

These are some pictures of Easter. The top right picture is my cousin Madison looking for some eggs. The one on the bottom right is me leading Wilson to some eggs, and the one on the top left are all of the eggs we found. And then the one on the bottom right is Joey carrying our basket of naturally dyed eggs.

We also read some Easter books and the story of Easter while we were in the car.

Daffodil Hill

Last Saturday, we went to Daffodil Hill in Volcano, CA. It is located close to where my aunt, uncle and cousins live in Jackson, we met them there. The trip took about one hour and 20 minutes.

We saw different types of daffodils. There was supposed to be over 300 varieties, but I only counted 22. Here are some of the varieties that we saw on our trip.

We went in March because it was the best time to view daffodils. Daffodils are bulbs, so they will sprout again each year.

We also saw some chickens, peacocks and different kinds of flying birds. After walking around the hills, we went to a large, grassy area and played some games with our cousins.
